Mandapeta, Andhra Pradesh: A dedicated team of volunteers can create meaningful social change, especially when their efforts are focused on education. This belief has guided Smiley Children Society since its establishment on January 19, 2019, enabling the organization to positively impact the lives of children from economically disadvantaged communities across Andhra Pradesh.
Founded by Prudhvi Moses, Smiley Children Society has developed a strong volunteer-driven model that supports children’s education through school enrollment campaigns, free academic assistance, awareness programs, and educational advocacy. The organization operates from its headquarters in Mandapeta, with branch offices in Angara (East Godavari District) and Pothavaram (West Godavari District).
One of the society’s most recognized initiatives involves helping children enroll in nearby government schools. Volunteers identify children who have either never attended school or have discontinued their education, meet with their families, explain the benefits of formal education, and assist them throughout the admission process.
The initiative has been acknowledged by Headmaster Swamy Narayan, who commended the volunteers for their commitment and appreciated Founder Prudhvi Moses for encouraging greater participation in government education.
“Many families require guidance during the admission process. The volunteers of Smiley Children Society have played an important role in supporting parents and ensuring that deserving children are enrolled in school without unnecessary difficulties,” the headmaster said.
Founder Prudhvi Moses believes that volunteerism is one of the most effective ways to strengthen society.
“Our volunteers contribute not only their time but also their compassion. Every child we help enter a classroom represents a step toward a more educated and self-reliant community. Education has the power to change lives, and we are committed to making it accessible to everyone,” he said.
In addition to enrollment support, Smiley Children Society conducts free evening tuition classes for students in Angara. These sessions provide academic mentoring, homework support, and exam preparation for children who may not have access to private coaching. To further support their well-being, the organization also provides free dinner after each class, helping ensure that children can learn in a healthy and supportive environment.
The society also advocates for improving the quality of early childhood education by encouraging Anganwadi centres and schools to adopt creative teaching techniques. During educational events, Prudhvi Moses has highlighted the importance of activity-based learning, storytelling, visual aids, and interactive classroom experiences that make learning enjoyable for young children.
To reinforce these efforts, Smiley Children Society donates educational materials and classroom equipment to schools whenever possible, supporting educators in creating engaging learning environments.
As it continues to expand its outreach across Andhra Pradesh, Smiley Children Society remains committed to empowering children through education, volunteer service, and community collaboration, working toward a future where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
