It is being told that the pilot is safe. Video circulated online showed the pilot on the ground being taken to shelter in a car. The cause of the crash, captured on video, is still unclear, although initial reports suggest the aircraft may have been accidentally hit by its own fire after being attacked by a Patriot air defense battery. The Patriot system is an American-made air defense platform designed to intercept incoming threats such as ballistic missiles and enemy aircraft.
According to media reports, Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company said that plane debris fell inside the Mina Al Ahmadi Refinery on Monday, injuring two employees. After the incident, emergency teams were sent to the spot. According to reports, the pilot had ejected before the plane fell, although American or Kuwaiti officials have not said anything about the pilot’s condition. Videos circulating on social media show the fighter plane descending rapidly before crashing, and separate footage also shows the pilot after ejecting. The cause of the accident has not been confirmed in any official statement yet.
