Dhaka. As soon as the new government was formed after the general elections in Bangladesh, the sentiments of President Mohammad Shahabuddin have also changed. For so many days, he did not raise a single question on the interim government headed by Mohammad Yunus. Atrocities continued to be inflicted on minorities and no stone was left unturned to spoil relations with India. Now Shahabuddin is saying that Mohammad Yunus kept him in the dark. According to Bangladeshi media, President Shahabuddin said that Mohammad Yunus neither paid attention to coordination between institutions nor did he give him any information regarding any decision.
According to the report, President Shahabuddin said that he was not even aware of foreign trips. No information related to foreign policy reached the President. He said that all political tactics were being used to isolate him. Shahabuddin said that the government should take important decisions on the advice of the President but Yunus used to take all the decisions himself. The Constitution says that the President should be briefed while going on a foreign tour and its consequences should be discussed after his return. During his tenure, he went abroad 14 to 15 times but his consent was not taken even once.
He said that he had a big role in making Mohammad Yunus the chief advisor. Even after this he continued to ignore me. He never came to meet me and on top of that he kept me in the dark. He said that he had received invitations from Qatar and Kosovo but the trip was canceled after a letter was made in his name. He said that it is very strange, can the President also be so busy in constitutional works. He said that I was not allowed to go in front of the public. An attempt was made to tarnish my image among the public. These people wanted that my name should not appear anywhere and no one should even recognize me. He said that I was not even allowed to attend the convocation of the university.
