Diplomacy with Iran and discussion of Midnight Hammer warning

Washington. Amid growing geopolitical tension in the Middle East, US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a very important meeting at the White House on Wednesday. This meeting, which lasted behind closed doors for about three hours, has created a stir in the corridors of global diplomacy. The main focus of the meeting was Iran’s nuclear program and future strategies in the region. Although no joint press conference was held after the meeting, separate statements by the two leaders clearly indicate that strategic coordination remains despite some differences in approach on the Iran issue.
President Donald Trump informed through social media after the meeting that the discussion was positive, although no final agreement has been sealed. Trump advocated keeping the door open to diplomatic negotiations with Iran despite Israel’s doubts. He clearly stated that if a workable agreement was possible, it would be the best option. Along with this, he also gave an indirect warning to Iran by reminding them of the previous military action. Trump referred to Operation Midnight Hammer, under which the US bombed Iranian nuclear sites last year. He said Iran had to pay a heavy price for withdrawing from the deal last time and this time America expects a more responsible behavior.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s stance remained firm regarding Israel’s security concerns. According to a statement issued by his office, he made it clear to President Trump that Israel will not compromise on its security needs. There is a strong fear in Israeli security circles that any limited agreement made with Iran will prove insufficient to stop its nuclear and military capabilities. Netanyahu discussed the security situation in Iran as well as in Gaza and the entire Middle East and agreed to maintain continued coordination with the US. This high-level meeting has taken place at a time when America has further strengthened its military presence in the Middle East. Preparations are underway to send a new aircraft carrier to the region, which is part of the strategy to maintain pressure on Iran. Even amidst this military pressure, America is active at the diplomatic level; Recently, the first round of talks between America and Iran has been concluded in Oman and preparations are being made for the second round. The US wants any potential deal to include curbs on Iran’s nuclear program as well as its ballistic missile program and regional proxy groups.
US Vice President JD Vance also clarified this policy, indicating that the primary goal of the current administration is not to bring about regime change in Iran, but to prevent it from acquiring nuclear weapons. However he added that if diplomacy fails, all other options are on the table. Experts believe that if this round of talks does not reach any concrete result, then America and Israel may move towards joint military action in the coming time. At present, the eyes of the whole world are fixed on the next round of talks to be held in Oman and the diplomatic conclusions emerging after this secret meeting of the White House.
